Discount Calculator (Sale Price & Savings)

Sale mein '50% + extra 10% off' ka asli matlab kya hai? Final price aur bachat turant dekho.

Discount formula

Final price = Price × (1 − Discount ÷ 100)
Savings = Price − Final price

Example: a ₹2,000 kurta at 30% off costs 2,000 × 0.70 = ₹1,400 and you save ₹600.

The "extra off" trick

Online sales and malls love offers like "Flat 50% + Extra 10% off". Many people think that means 60% off, but the extra discount is applied on the already-reduced price. ₹2,000 → 50% off = ₹1,000 → extra 10% off = ₹900. Total discount is 55%, not 60%. This calculator shows the effective discount so you can compare two offers honestly.

Effective % = 100 − (100 − d1) × (100 − d2) ÷ 100

Discount vs cashback vs bank offer

Smart shopping tips

Compare the final price, not the percentage. Ek product par "70% off" ho sakta hai lekin MRP badha kar likha ho – price history check karein. Add delivery charges and convenience fees before deciding. Shopkeepers can also use this tool in reverse: if you want to give a customer a final price, try different discount percentages until the final price fits. For calculating profit margin or markup, use our percentage calculator, and to see the GST inside a price use the GST calculator.
